History

Murton Systems Tech (PTY) LTD, formally Murton Electronics cc, was founded in 1979. We were awarded the SIS500 contract by Transnet in 1995, amidst aggressive competition from both local and international companies. Some of the other companies, which submitted tenders, consisted of large multi-nationals like Siemens and Westinghouse.


MSTech is the only provider of this particular product, which we manufacture solely for TRANSNET and PRASA
We are the preferred manufacturer of TRANSNET and PRASA, Telemetry, Battery Chargers, R232, Telephone & other products.
 

In 2001, Fimm Works (PTY) LTD, an engineering and project management company, operating primarily within the Defence, Manufacturing and Electronics sectors of the Southern Africa and European Markets bought an interest in Murton System Technologies with a view to adding Fimm’s system engineering and software (embedded) capabilities to Murton’s manufacturing base, thereby creating a specialized electronics system company operating primarily in the commercial security and communications markets
 

Design

TRANSNET is now the owner of the designed documentation. Any improvements or upgrades to the SIS 500 system must be approved and implemented by TRANSNET.
 

Manufacturing

The manufacturing process entails:

Populate PCB, both through hole and surface mount to meet prescribed standards set by TRANSNET.

Programming of all memory devices which forms part of the communication interface.

Testing each sub assembly e.g. Power supply unit, with it’s own unique test jig and software.

Final assembly to be carried out by our highly skilled production line
